Adam Christgau, 1995, is a drummer that has and will travel with Australian singer SIA, who has won 3 ARIA Music Awards. They have performed at the Sydney Opera House. Adam will travel Australia and New Zealand in January 2011 with SIA.
Eliza Davis, 2006, will be a senior in the fall at The Taft School. She was recently elected to be a School Monitor, the Head Chorister of the select choir, Collegium Musicum and a tri-captain for the 2012 Spring track team! She also received The Princeton University Prize an award given to a member of the Upper Middle Class whose high honor roll standing and commitment to learning exceeds classroom requirements. This award is only given to students whose good character is evident in community service activities and outstanding contributions to the extra-curricular life of the school. Well done Eliza!
Eileen Fenn, spent part of this summer researching at a Think Tank in Hawaii. She was recently awarded a fellowship to study in Oxford for the remainder of the summer.
Aaron Kovalchik, 1995, is in his second year of graduate school at Brown University getting a Master's Degree in Writing. The film, Aardvark, which Aaron did the cinematography for, was accepted at the Lacarno Film Festival in Lacarno, Switzerland this past August. It won an Honorable Mention.
Adam Kovalchik and his dad, Michael Kovalchik completed hiking the Appalachian Trail as thru-hikers in October 2010. It took them around six months to complete. This is Adam's second time hiking the trail.
Benjamin Levy, 1999, is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Mathematical Ecology from the University Of Tennessee. He wrote recently to LMS, “In my current studies to obtain a Doctorate in Mathematical Ecology, my ability to analyze complex material and break it into something I can visualize and comprehend is due in large part to the foundation I received from my Montessori education”.
Zachary Levy, 2001, graduated from American University this past May. Congrats Zach!
Alexandria Martin, made honors all year long at the Mooreland Hill School where she also plays field hockey, basketball and softball.
Christopher Martin, will be attending Salisbury School in Salisbury, CT in September. He is eager to participate in the school's soccer program. Soccer has been his passion since he was 4 years old.
Marisa Martin, 2006, is a junior boarding student at The Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT. She is on the junior varsity soccer team, plays basketball in the winter and is on the varsity softball team in the spring. In 2010, Marisa received the most improved player award in basketball.
Shannon Martin, was awarded the Headmaster's Award for Young Scholars at the Mooreland Hill School, where she also received a merit-based scholarship!
Emily McArdle As a child and teen, Emily trained at both the McArdle Schools of Irish Dance (championship) and the Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts where she danced many lead roles in the student ballet company. Emily was selected to train at such prestigious ballet schools as SAB, HARID Conservatory, Boston Ballet, Washington School of Ballet, and the Joffrey Ballet, as well as work with the world-renowned Tony Nolan of the Irish Dance commision. After high school, EWmily performed wit the Washington Ballet in their classical productions of "Giselle" and "The Nutcracker." In 2008, Emily performed on the national tour of Magic Tree House: The Musical as their featured dancer. In addition to her work on stage, she also worked behind the scenes as the Irish Dance coordinator, and creative consultant. When she isn't on the Road with MOMIX, Emily can be found performing throughout Manhattan with the Niall O'Leary's Dance Troupe. Emmanuel Mennesson, 2007, just finished his sophomore year at Taft. He is on the honor roll, and although he works very hard, he loves school. He is in the Beekeeping Club and rock climbs in his spare time at school. He is in Maine on a Taft trip right now, making a movie for his video class. He will be traveling to France and Spain with two friends from Taft later this summer.
Gabriel Mennesson, 2009, just graduated from Washington Montessori and will be attending Taft in the fall. He is spending the summer helping his parents around the house and will go to New Mexico with me to help care for his grandmother
