SUPPORTING OUR MISSION
Along with the volunteer efforts of our family members and friends, Litchfield Montessori School, like all independent schools, relies on fund raising events that help to offset the difference between tuition and the cost of maintaining the quality of our educational program. The following annual events work to support financial aid, teacher training and professional enrichment, and building and campus needs.
Family and community members contribute their time, talent, and treasures to the following fund-raising efforts:
ANNUAL FUND
The Litchfield Montessori School's Annual Fund is the foundation of the School's annual giving program.
As a non-profit institution, LMS relies on additional unrestricted dollars to help support additional costs and expenses. Tuition alone does not cover the cost of educating our students. Beyond tuition dollars, the Annual Fund supports financial aid to allow greater diversity and equal access to our program; teacher enrichment, training and compensation; and capital improvements and building program. The Annual Fund helps defray the 17% difference between tuition revenue and operational costs.
We greatly depend upon the generosity of our current parents, grandparents, past parents, friends, and local community businesses in supporting our Annual Fund to maintain our extraordinary program as well as to help advance the school's mission.
If you would like to support the Annual Fund with a tax deductible contribution, please contact Susan Touponse, Director of Development at 860.283.5920 or at development@litchfieldmontessori.org. The Annual Fund ends on June 30, 2011.
Our Annual Auction this past year was held on April 24, 2010 at the Torrington Country Club, the Auction supports what makes LMS so special and unique. Proceeds raised from the Auction support financial aid to students, curriculum and program materials, and faculty training. This year we were able to raise just over $75,000 from our Auction.
The success of the Auction is a collaborative effort, thanks to the many dedicated volunteers, generosity of hundreds of donors, attendees, staff, faculty, corporate sponsors, underwriters, and all those who hopped on board to help.
Auction 2011-Saturday, April 30, 2011.
