An accidental discovery
April 3rd, 2017 by Cara Johnson
Today, while trying to access a power outlet, I accidentally tipped a few books off the shelf. On the floor was my ancient copy of Making Things The Hand Book of Creative Discovery by Ann Wiseman. As a child I treasured this book for all the fun activites pictured on its pages, and I have carried it with me from place to place for countless years for its sentimental value. I could not remember the last time I really looked at it, not since I was young, so I flipped it open and this is what I found:
To my surprise I found myself looking at a description of the ethos of Montessori education! It was a wonderful moment where a childhood treasure once again became relevant. It was a moment of joy and a perfect reminder of the importance of our work here at Litchfield Montessori School; I found myself wanting to share her words with everyone.
