Your Brain on Nature

I recently returned from a three-day camping and canoeing trip. Although I did not venture far from home, I disconnected from the demands of digital life and submerged myself in the beauty and rhythm of a life outdoors.

I have always known that the ability to get outside, to disconnect from the telephone, e-mail, computer, and the demands of modern life has a tremendously rejuvenating effect on me.  When I return to work I feel like a new person, and guess what? There is a reason for that! 

Take a moment and read this short article that talks about the science behind why getting outside will increase your focus and creativity and reduce stress!  Not only is it important for children to get outside but it is important for adults as well!
