Harvest Feast
Friday, November 20th
Schedule of events:
8:45 AM Community Circle PARENT BREAKFAST (All Parents Invited)
Please join us for a parent’s breakfast across the street at Northfield Fire Department after drop-off. During breakfast, we’ll engage in a Community Circle parent education experience.
11:00 AM Harvest Feast (Children's House & Elementary Families)

After breakfast, Children’s House and Elementary parents are invited to return to LMS at 11:00 AM for theHarvest Feast. We’ll gather on the field for a celebration of gratitude, followed by a meal prepared by the children.
Please note: Only Children’s House and Elementary children participate in this event with their parents. We do not disrupt the morning routine for our youngest community members.
In keeping with tradition, we ask that each person brings a bowl (preferably wooden), cup (preferably tin), spoon, cloth napkin, and a basket to carry them in.
12:00 PM Early Dismissal (All Students)
This event also begins our Thanksgiving Break, with a 12:00 PM dismissal for all students, including YPC.
We look forward to celebrating with you!
Handbook Highlight:
Our Handbook Highlight draws attention to a section of the LMS Family Handbook that is especially helpful for families to know or revisit. While printed copies are available in the front office, our Family Handbook is a living document and may be updated throughout the year as practices or policies are clarified.
Fall & Winter Illnesses -
For the members of our community who are immune compromised, and for the rest of us who appreciate not being exposed to illness, please help keep everyone well this season.
Please read this excerpt from page 10 of our Family Handbook:
Health & Safety Protocols
It is important to recognize that all health and safety risks cannot be eliminated despite the implementation of reasonable and age-appropriate precautions and protocols. Keeping our school community healthy is a shared responsibility. We ask families to support this effort by keeping children home when they are sick.
Please keep your child home if he or she has symptoms of illness. Fever, a sore throat, vomiting, or greenish colored discharge from the nose are clear signs of illness.
- Students may return to school after they are fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducers.
- If they or anyone in your house has the stomach bug, please keep children home for a minimum of 48 hours after symptoms have passed.
When students come to school sick, they jeopardize the health of their schoolmates, faculty and staff. If your child begins to show symptoms of illness while at school, we will contact families to arrange for the child to be picked up.
Parents should notify the school in the morning if their child is sick and will not be coming to school. If your child has a communicable disease, i.e., strep throat, G.I. ailments, respiratory illnesses, etc., please notify the school.
- Frequent hand washing: Parents and school faculty will model and give lessons on effective hand washing to support children as they learn to properly wash their hands: after wiping their nose or touching their eyes, before and after eating or using the bathroom, and when they come in from playing outside.
- Cough and sneeze etiquette: Children will be reminded to practice good personal hygiene, to cover all coughs and sneezes with their elbow, and to wash their hands with soap and water immediately after covering a cough/sneeze.
For further information about the current expectations with regard to keeping everyone healthy this season, please refer to the 2026/27 Family Handbook.
Help keep everyone in the loop:
When calling out, please send a Remind message to both Michelle in the Office and your child's teacher.
