Happening this week:
Friday, Nov. 10th:
Parent Teacher Conferences
School is closed on November 10th. Child care is provided during conference times.
There is still time to sign up for a conference. Lower El and Kelsey's Children's House classrooms have additional time slots to ensure each family has an opportunity to meet with their child's teacher.
- Please indicate if you will need child care upon submission.

A Week of Giving
Give
to the Annual Fund
The participation of every parent in our annual fund campaign is essential. It shows that, as a community, we value and invest in our children's education. It also encourages outside donors and grant organizations to support us, as they see the strong backing by our own community.

Food Drive!
Upper Elementary will be partnering with St. Michael's Food Pantry in Litchfield. Please consider supporting our community outreach initiative by sending in a non-perishable food item until Thursday, November 16th.
Most needed items are: peanut butter, canned soup/stew, canned fruit, canned vegetables/beans, canned fish, pasta, and rice
Let us gather in celebration on November 17th.
- We are grateful for YOU.
- After breakfast, we ask that Children's House and Elementary Parents, please return to LMS at 11AM to partake in our annual celebration of the Harvest Feast. (YPC Children do not participate in the celebration)
- We ask that you gather with us on the field adjacent to the LMS playground where the children will offer their gifts of gratitude.
- Join us afterward for a small meal prepared by the children.
It is tradition that families participating in the harvest feast bring in reusable bowls (wooden or pottery), mugs, and cutlery. For parents who choose not to partake in the festivities, please be sure to send CH and Elementary Children in to school with a set that morning.
This celebration marks the beginning of our Thanksgiving Break and is a 1/2 day.
We ask that you depart with your children after lunch, dismissed by their teacher at 12:30 PM.
YPC Children will also be dismissed at 12:30 PM.
Things to know...
Snow Protocols:
Just a reminder that, when it comes to weather delays and cancelations, Litchfield Montessori School typically follows the Litchfield Public Schools’ decision.
Delay Opening: There is no Early Bird care on those occasions and school begins at 10am, unless the forecast requires an alternative.
Early Dismissal: We will let you know as soon as possible via Remind, so you can make plans to pick up your child(ren).
Make sure you’ve signed up for Remind, as this is how we will notify you in the event of a delay, closing, or early dismissal.
Fall clubs are coming to an end...
- Hip Hop November 13th
- Running Club November 28th
- Yoga, Bike Club, Abundant Circle & Fall Fairy Fun are all Finished
We love the woods, but maybe not everything in them...
Please check your children nightly for ticks.
Although we think ticks go away with summer, adult ticks are actually out in full force in the fall. We love to let our children play the woods and leaf piles, but that means we need to do our part to educate ourselves and our children.
Please find linked, two informative posters to start/continue the conversation with your child. It is important that even a small child knows to tell an adult if they feel any kind of bump/itch or creepy crawly that might be a tick.
*The school has a tick-twister, which is a very effective way of removing the whole tick.
