Litchfield Montessori School is seeking applicants for a full-time lead teacher, or "guide",  in our Children’s House primary classroom (children 3 – 5 years old). The Children's House guide has a critical role in the culture and success of our school. The core responsibilities of this position lie in the work with the children and their families. He or she must be AMI Montessori certified at the primary level and demonstrate a commitment to the development of the whole child. They must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain a developmentally appropriate environment, have enthusiasm and patience for leading a primary classroom, be willing to help families grow and understand the Montessori method, remain flexible when following the needs of children, be willing to guide and work collaboratively with an assistant and as a part of the larger school community.

The guide responds to the needs of the school including but not limited to:

Communications - maintaining appropriate relationships with parents; consistently and proactively keeping them well informed, and contributing to publications

Marketing - being an advocate, supporting recruitment and retention, and promoting the school in the wider community

Development - supporting fundraising and cultivation of friends and supporters of LMS

Each guide also has a duty to demonstrate evidence of professional standards of personal presentation, punctuality, professional courtesy and discretion, and to represent Litchfield Montessori School as guided by school policy and culture.

Hours/Rate/Benefits:
This is a full-time, salaried position.
Competitive salary commensurate with education and experience
Salary range: $44,000 - $60,000

Qualifications include:
AMI Diploma
Experience working as an AMI or AMS Primary Teacher
Bachelor's Degree
