The sixth year class is happy to announce our returning partnership with Hometown Pizza in Thomaston for our weekly Pizza Lunch Fundraiser!
Pizza will be served on the first school day of the week. Pizza orders are tallied and ordered during the early part of the students’ work cycle, please submit all orders prior to 8:30 am.

Find community in our circle of families! Come together with other school parents and relatives as we discuss topics concerning raising children of all ages. Learn how to support your child at home to reinforce what they are learning in the classroom.
Childcare is provided. Please reach out to Michelle via Remind if you plan to attend.
Communication Reminder:
Remind is our hub for parent-school and parent-parent communication.
Parent-Office: If your child is going to be tardy or absent for any reason, please message Michelle by using the "Office - Michelle" contact in Remind.
Parent-Teacher: Communicate with your child’s guide using Remind. Schedule a meeting directly with them as needed. Please give grace for their response to be within office hours, but not in the midst of the moments of a school day when they give their full attention to our children. Classroom preparation is very important for teachers, as is their personal time outside school hours; we do not expect our guides to respond after hours or on weekends and vacations. We ask that you do not walk into your child's classroom to communicate with the teacher unless you have a meeting or observation scheduled.
Parent- Parent: We recently uploaded a classroom list to enable you to connect with other parents in your child's classroom. You may reach out via Remind to coordinate playdates, birthdays, or you may ask individuals for their personal information. The school will not provide personal contact information of our parents.
Parent-Administrator: If you have concerns about any aspect of your child’s classroom experience, we urge you to contact your child’s teacher immediately. If the situation is not resolved after a conference with them, please contact Betsy Johnson, Assistant Head of School, or Diane Hart, Head of School.
Handbook Highlight:
Our Handbook Highlight draws attention to a section of the LMS Family Handbook that is especially helpful for families to know or revisit. While printed copies are available in the front office, our Family Handbook is a living document and may be updated throughout the year as practices or policies are clarified.
Insect Repellent Policy
At Litchfield Montessori School, children routinely go on outdoor adventures where they may be exposed to both sun and insects. As always, we aim to support the health and comfort of each child while respecting individual family choices. We advise that you send your child with sun protective clothing and administer insect repellent before school each day. We ask that you apply insect repellent at home. If you wish to do so at drop-off, please park and apply repellent on the lawn, away from other cars and families. A morning application will cover them for an entire school day. If you would like your child to reapply insect repellent during a field trip that goes beyond regular school hours, please fill out a form (provided prior to a field trip) pertaining to insect repellent. Do not send your child to school with the insect repellent. If you choose to send it for use on a trip, please bring it to the office in advance, clearly labeled with your child’s full name. Wrist bands or insect repellent stickers may be sent to school with your child and worn at school at parents’ discretion without filling out a form or sending those items to the office first.
