Weekly Update May 9th - 16th

May 9th, 2025

A child can only acquire the words he hears spoken around him. This is not teaching but absorption. The child is, by nature, hungry for words; he loves strange, long words like the names of dinosaurs and constellations. He takes in all these words without understanding their meaning, as his mind is still taking language in by a process of unconscious absorption.
Maria Montessori
The 1946 London Lectures, p. 148

Moving-On Ceremony Information:

June 6th:

This special event celebrates our students as they transition to new stages in their educational journeys. We will honor children moving from Extended Day to Lower Elementary, Third Years advancing to Upper Elementary, and our Sixth-Year children completing their time at LMS.

Although it is not a requirement, all are welcome to attend, even if your child is not moving up this year. Extended Day through Elementary children have been preparing musical entertainment for the event, and they are eager to showcase their talents.

Afterward, we invite all families to join us for a bring-your-own-picnic lunch. Please remember to bring a picnic blanket to relax and enjoy the time together.
