Weekly Update Feb. 16 - Feb. 23

February 16th, 2024

No one who has ever done anything really great or successful has ever done it simply because he was attracted by what we call a “reward” or by fear of what we call a “punishment”.... Every victory and every advance in human progress comes from an inner compulsion.

Winter Illnesses -

For the members of our community who are immune compromised, and for the rest of us who appreciate not being exposed to illness, please help keep everyone well this winter. Please read this page from our parent handbook for further information about the current expectations with regard to keeping everyone healthy this season.

Help keep everyone in the loop: When calling out, please send a Remind message to both Betsy and your child's teacher.

Give to the Annual Fund

Thank you to all who have contributed so far!

The participation of every parent in our annual fund campaign is essential.  It shows that, as a community, we value and invest in our children's education. It also encourages outside donors and grant organizations to support us, as they see the strong backing by our own community.

Montessori Moment:

How Montessori Education Creates Resilient, Competent Adults

“The only constant in life is change.”  - Heraclitus

It’s been over two millennia since Heraclitus penned his famous quote, and not only is change still a constant, it’s picked up its pace. Today’s children will work in jobs that don’t exist yet, working to solve problems laden with increasingly higher stakes.

So how do we help children grow into adults prepared to take on these challenges? The answer is clear - Montessori education. The Montessori approach is uniquely effective in children grown into resilient, competent, and resourceful individuals who are best equipped to face our future challenges and thrive.
